Night Prayer
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Inspiration
As God’s children, we are called not just to receive His blessings, but to pass on His blessings. Even when we suffer evil, we are called to do good. When we receive insults, God asks us to answer with kindness. And should anyone curse us, let us speak only blessings. Let our words always reflect the hearts of the One who has filled us with His grace and called us to eternal life.
Prayer
Lord, sometimes it’s hard to deal with the evil of this world. When others hurl insults at me, I want revenge, or at least justice. Help me to rely on Your grace, to center my heart on Your blessings, so that my words may honor Your name and reveal Your kingdom. Work through me so that all I say may lead others to Your life-giving grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Night Prayer
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Inspiration
We humble ourselves before the Lord when faced with the almighty power He possesses. Death is final to us, yet it has no command over the Maker of the heavens and earth. God has authority over all His creation; we feel small, yet mighty and honored, to be loved by Him. We are grateful that the One who holds the world in the palm of His hand also carries our spirits close to His heart and feels we are worthy to experience eternal life.
Prayer
Dear God, we humble ourselves before You. Thank You for considering us worthy of Your love. We devote our spirits to You and are proud to be Your children. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
