If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Inspiration
Sometimes, we don’t allow ourselves to get a complete and accurate picture of who Jesus is. Jesus said that He is the Truth, and in Him, all truth is revealed. But our own preferences, desires, and fears sometimes lead us to a faulty picture of Jesus. So let’s seek to know Him, as He really is, and be centered on His truth.
Prayer
Jesus, You have revealed Yourself to me in Your life and in Your word. Yet still, I confess that I sometimes try to make You what I want You to be instead of seeing You as You really are. Please guide me in Your truth, so that I may know and proclaim You faithfully, and I may live according to Your truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Night Prayer
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Inspiration
We humble ourselves before the Lord when faced with the almighty power He possesses. Death is final to us, yet it has no command over the Maker of the heavens and earth. God has authority over all His creation; we feel small, yet mighty and honored, to be loved by Him. We are grateful that the One who holds the world in the palm of His hand also carries our spirits close to His heart and feels we are worthy to experience eternal life.
Prayer
Dear God, we humble ourselves before You. Thank You for considering us worthy of Your love. We devote our spirits to You and are proud to be Your children. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
